Brembo 19RCS SHORT STROKE Radial Master Cylinder

The Brembo 19RCS CORSA CORTA Radial Master Cylinder is the evolution of the 19RCS, it is the 19RCS that is adjustable in the FREE STROKE.

In MotoGP the riders choose their favorite idle race: with the 19RCS CORSACORTA you can do it too.
Through the new regulation it is possible to decide the braking point of attack and consequently the feeling.

The 19 RCS Corsa Corta is fully customizable:

  1. FREE STROKE adjustment:
    Calibration on three positions (RSN) to map very accurately the very first part of the lever travel, for the maximum feel of the braking attack.
  2. LEVER DISTANCE adjustment.
    Continuous adjustment (click by click) to vary the distance of the lever from the handlebar and adapt it to the rider's hand and characteristics.
  3. LEVER DISTANCE adjustment - RCS (Ratio Click System).
    Calibration on two positions: 18 mm. for maximum modularity and 20 mm. for maximum braking system readiness.

The effective lever stroke is given by the total stroke of the lever itself (necessary to produce a given pressure in the circuit) minus the idle stroke, which consists in moving the piston from the total release position until the tank feed hole is closed.

Normally this parameter, depending on the various tolerances and the type of product, is variable from pump to pump.

The RCS "Corsa Corta" has the possibility of setting this parameter on three positions (RSN), and consequently mapping very accurately the very first part of the lever travel for the maximum feeling of the braking attack according to this scheme:

  • Position R "RACE" : the idle stroke is minimized, very similar to the stroke of the master cylinders used in MotoGP, the lever will be more reactive.
  • Position S "SPORT" : the idle stroke is in an intermediate position, as is the feeling at the lever.
  • Position N "NORMAL" the idle stroke is greater, therefore there will be a wider modulation and a softer braking attack, ideal on wet surfaces.

The idle run setting is added to the two already existing setting possibilities:

  • The adjustment of the distance of the lever from the handlebar
  • The RCS system (Ratio Click System) , which allows the pump center distance to be changed to two different positions: 18 mm. for maximum modularity and 20 mm. for maximum braking system readiness. The chosen configuration is easily identifiable by the color of the eccentric: Red for the 18mm, Black for the 20mm

Brake Lever
The brake lever is made up of two main components: the Leva Racing guide and the jointed lever itself, made through forging.
The two parts of the lever are joined by a patented joint which allows the lever to be overturned only in the event of a fall, preventing accidental rotations.
The lever distance adjustment wheel from the handlebar is now on the same axis as the lever, which allows for better installation of any remote adjustment system, and also always guarantees the optimal working angle of the piston axis. By practically moving the lever away from the handlebar and vice versa, the kinematic mechanisms work at a constant angle.

Stop Light Switch
The standard mechanical stop light switch on this master cylinder allows the correct operation of the stop light and therefore road use. It is possible to remove it.
The switch works with the lever at rest in "normally open" conditions, pressing the lever closes the circuit. It cannot replace switches that work "normally closed", for example BMW. In these cases it is necessary to purchase an optional switch available on this page among the related products.

19RCS , 17RCS, 15RCS 14RCS ? these numbers identify the diameter of the piston and determine their use:

  • 19RCS CORSACORTA must be used on dual disc systems and traditional or radial but NOT floating brake calipers, for expert riders
  • 19RCS must be used on dual disc systems and traditional or radial but NOT floating brake calipers, for all riders.
  • 17RCS CORSACORTA must be used on dual disc systems and traditional or radial but NOT floating brake calipers with a diameter equal to or less than 32mm, for example Panigale and RSV4, Yamaha R6 etc etc., for expert riders.
  • 17RCS must be used on twin disc systems and traditional or radial but NOT floating brake calipers with a diameter equal to or less than 32mm, for which, for example, Panigale and RSV4, Yamaha R6 etc etc., for all riders.
  • 15RCS can be mounted on twin disc systems with floating type calipers (naked) or single disc system (motard).
    The lever yields of the 15 RCS in the 15 x 20 configuration can be compared to the 16 x 18 fixed master cylinder, while the 15 x 18 to the 16 x 16.
  • 14RCS extends the application of RCS Brembo technology also to scooters and motorcycles with low powers. Available both Right and Left.

On some Japanese motorcycle models the master cylinder bolt pitch may be different (usually on Japanese motorcycles it is M10x1.25) as all radial master cylinders have the bolt that enters the master cylinder with an M10x1 pitch.
Attention if your bike originally mounts an axial master cylinder, the brake pipes may not be compatible; on request we can supply specific piping kits for radial master cylinders or adapters for radial master cylinders . Consult the section Brakes > Pipes Complete Kits.
